Real Sociedad wrapped up a short but intense week at Zubieta with an in-house friendly in which Wesley struck two outstanding goals. According to Diario Vasco, coach Matarazzo has handed the squad three days off, so there will be no training on Friday or over the weekend.
The group will return on Monday to prepare for the meeting with Levante next Saturday at 14.00. The run-out mixed fit first-teamers with Sanse youngsters.
One team wore txuri-urdin, the other orange, the alternative kit used at home. From the stands Matarazzo, Ansotegi and Erik Bretos observed, while Imanol Agirretxe offered instructions from one bench.
For the txuri-urdin side, starters were Marrero, Marín at right-back, Aritz, Kita and Aihen, with Carbonell and Mikel Rodríguez in midfield. Ahead were Astiazaran, Zakharyan, Marchal and Karrikaburu. Garro and Agote featured after the interval.
The orange side, considered the winners as only Wesley’s two goals are shown and there is no match sheet, lined up Arana in goal and a back four of Dadie, Beitia, Ayo and Gómez. Turrientes and Aguirre were in midfield, with Díaz, Brais and Wesley behind Carrera, and Gorosabel also saw minutes. The Brazilian scored in each half, first beating right-back Marín, then eluding the Riojan again before dribbling Zakharyan and Aritz to finish low.
