West Brom are edging closer to appointing James Morrison as their permanent head coach after a 10-match unbeaten run transformed their season.
"All I'm concentrating on is getting to the end of the season. Realistically, there's going to be a lot of conversation. I'll give my thoughts and I'm sure the club will have their opinions. Let's just get to the end of the season and have a discussion," he told ExpressAndStar.com.
The former Baggies midfielder took interim charge for the second time this season, a third overall, after Eric Ramsay’s nine-game spell. His first match ended in defeat, and he publicly challenged some players.
That response triggered the surge. A win over Watford made them safe, then an EFL points deduction meant they still needed a point against Ipswich, which they collected to confirm Championship status with a game to spare.
Calls have grown for him to take the job full time, with former team-mates Shane Long and Gareth Barry saying he has done enough. Albion visit Sheffield Wednesday on the final day.
Whether an agreement arrives before the weekend is unclear, but he is considered highly likely to become Ramsay’s permanent successor at The Hawthorns.
