West Bromwich Albion must submit their retained and released list by Saturday 16 May, the Football League’s third-Saturday deadline, with several first-team contracts expiring at the end of June.
According to ExpressAndStar.com, Albion have yet to confirm the futures of six senior players whose terms run out next month.
Club captain Jed Wallace reaches the end of the four-year deal he signed in 2022, and Karlan Grant is also out of contract after six years with the Baggies.
Strikers Daryl Dike and Josh Maja are due to be out of contract, both having endured injury-hit spells but featuring under James Morrison late in the campaign.
Two of the three senior goalkeepers also see their deals expire, with Max O’Leary, a short-term January arrival, and Joe Wildsmith, who spent the run-in on loan at Middlesbrough without an appearance, both out of contract.
Only clubs involved in the play-offs are permitted an extension to the deadline.
Director of football operations Ian Pearce, technical director Dominic Price and head coach Morrison have held talks on the squad. Morrison noted that negotiations can take time and said discussions have already started. He added that agreements depend on players and club matching terms, and he hopes the group buy into what has been built.
