West Bromwich Albion could target former Sunderland midfielder Nectar Triantis following Eric Ramsay’s appointment, according to the Daily Mirror. The 22-year-old is understood to be among potential midfield options.

The Baggies confirmed Ramsay as their new boss over the weekend, the 34-year-old arriving at The Hawthorns after two seasons with Minnesota United. He previously worked at Manchester United.

Ramsay could look to reinforce midfield, and Triantis is a familiar face after working closely together in the United States last year. He moved from Sunderland to Minnesota United in August 2025, and the pair built a strong working relationship.

West Brom are expected to be active in the January window, with midfield a priority. Triantis is contracted to Minnesota until 2029, so any move would need significant negotiation.

Triantis joined Sunderland in June 2023 on a four-year deal after arriving from Australia for around £300,000. He made three first-team appearances in 2023-24 before joining Hibernian on loan in February 2024.

The spell proved successful, and he returned for a second loan at the start of 2024-25. His performances earned widespread praise and a nomination for the SFWA Footballer of the Year award, amid Championship interest, including Blackburn Rovers.

Minnesota United secured his signature in August 2025, and he memorably scored from inside his own half on debut. Now capped at international level, he remains on radars on both sides of the Atlantic as talk of a reunion grows.
