West Ham United sealed an excellent 2-0 win over Newcastle United on Monday night.
The Hammers produced one of the best displays under Julen Lopetegui and thoroughly deserved maximum points.
But despite the victory, many big issues remain to be solved for West Ham, particularly in attack.
They have been struggling to score goals this campaign, with Michail Antonio not a reliable goalscorer.
According to The Telegraph, Brighton & Hove Albion’s Evan Ferguson is available on loan this January.
West Ham has been mentioned as a potential suitor for the talented striker, who is valued at £60 million by the Seagulls.
Ferguson has emerged as one of the best young talents in the Premier League.
Despite his age, he has already made 74 senior appearances for Brighton, with 17 goals to his name.
But the centre-forward is currently struggling for game time, with Danny Welbeck, Georginio Rutter and Joao Pedro ahead of him in the pecking order.
A transfer move for Ferguson will surely end Niclas Fullkrug’s spell at West Ham.
The Irons splashed £27.5 million to sign the Germany international from Borussia Dortmund, but the move has spectacularly failed.
He is yet to make a Premier League start this campaign, as he has sidelined since picking up an injury in September.
Lopetegui has been forced to use Antonio to spearhead the attack, but the Jamaican isn’t effective as a centre-forward.
Galatasaray are reportedly keen on Fullkrug, and West Ham could be open to a transfer if they manage to sign Ferguson as a replacement.
The German is injury-prone and so rarely available for selection. It is best if the club offload Fullkrug and sign a quality replacement, as he hasn’t been good enough.
