Leeds beat Wolves 3-0 on Saturday, then third-bottom Tottenham drew 2-2 with Brighton, leaving Leeds eight points above the drop. United also moved seven clear of West Ham, who still had a game in hand.

That fixture arrived on Monday, away at Palace, where the Hammers largely dictated play, with Jarrod Bowen a recurring threat.

Palace finished strongly as they hunted a winner, but the points were shared.

The draw left West Ham a point better off in their fight to stay up and Tottenham two points short of safety. It also confirmed Wolves’ mathematical demotion, their maximum now 33 points, one fewer than fourth-bottom West Ham’s current 33.
