West Ham United are keen on recruiting the services of Bayer Leverkusen forward Amine Adli this summer, according to French journalist Julien Laurens.
West Ham have yet to add an attacker to their senior team this summer, and manager Graham Potter could make a move for the ‘very fast’ and ‘extremely skillful’ 25-year-old. Adli is keen on a move to England, and Wolverhampton Wanderers are also interested in signing him.
He could be available for £23 million, which could be appealing to the Hammers in their search for a replacement for Mohammed Kudus.
Adli won the Bundesliga title in 2023-24, and he has the experience and quality West Ham need in a forward in the final third.
The Morocco international has 23 goals and 24 assists in 142 games for Bayer, and he can also play as a number 9 and number 10 despite primarily being a left winger.
Adli loves to work his socks off when not in possession of the ball, and his defensive contribution is a quality missing in most attackers.
The West Ham target also frequently plays through balls and key passes, and he is also an aerial threat in the box despite standing at 5ft 9in.
Former Bayer manager Xabi Alonso is an admirer of his hunger and intensity, and Potter could do with such qualities in his attackers.
Adli wants to prove himself in the Premier League, but his goal return in the German top-flight is not the most impressive and the Hammers could have reservations over doing a deal as they need prolific players in the wide areas after losing Kudus.
The Moroccan will not be the only attacker on their radar, and they will need to make the right decisions as they look to bolster their options in the position ahead of next season.
