Mohamed Salah is now eligible to negotiate a pre-contract agreement with any club, as his Liverpool deal is set to expire in June. As the new year begins, reports have emerged linking the 32-year-old forward with a move to Paris Saint-Germain.
According to L’Équipe’s Loïc Tanzi, PSG are fully committed to securing Salah’s signature next summer. The Egyptian forward is their top offensive target, along with Jhon Durán. However, the race for him will be tough, as Liverpool and Al-Hilal are also interested.
Football Insider recently reported that Salah is pushing for a major contract extension, hoping to extend his stay at Anfield until 2027, which would add three more years to his current deal.

Amid the rumors linking Al-Hilal to Salah, manager Jorge Jesus left the door open that the club intend to pursue the veteran in the summer.
“Salah or other big names won’t come this winter but maybe this summer,” Jesus said (h/t The Mirror).
Recently, French football expert Jonathan Johnson spoke about the rumor and whether the move for the veteran makes sense for the Ligue 1 giants.
“I think it’s clear that Salah wants to stay at Liverpool,” Johnson said on the latest PSG Talking podcast. “However, there needs to be a logical compromise between both sides so the deal makes sense for Liverpool and for Salah. It’s difficult for any club—whether Liverpool, PSG, or another team entirely—to commit to more than two years given his current form. At his age, players often begin to decline.
“This could be the best season of his career. He might even end up with the Ballon d’Or at the end of it. But clubs are approaching transfers more intelligently these days. Any team signing Salah after what could be his final season with Liverpool would have to pay a lot and might be tied to a contract exceeding two years, possibly extending to three. There’s no guarantee it works. Look at what happened with Sadio Mané after he left Liverpool. His move only lasted a year before he went to Saudi Arabia.
“So, I would say clubs should be cautious. While Salah’s current form is incredibly tempting, replicating it in future seasons will be challenging as he progresses in his career. I believe this will ultimately be a career-defining campaign for him. Whether he stays at Liverpool, moves to Paris, or goes somewhere else, any season after this one is likely to fall short in comparison.”
