Blues suffered a fifth defeat in seven Championship matches on Good Friday
It has been an extremely frustrating period of late for Birmingham City, who have seen their campaign peter out after a run of five defeats in seven Championship outings.
A dismal 1-0 defeat to Derby County at Pride Park ahead of the international break saw the pressure firmly fall on Chris Davies' shoulders, and such feats continued on Good Friday as Blues lost by the same score to relegation-threatened Blackburn Rovers at St. Andrew's @ Knighthead Park.
Michael O'Neill's side are just the third team to have emerged victorious from B9 in a league fixture under Davies' management, but it was a game where the same issues came to the fore for his team.
Despite being continuously backed in the transfer market by Knighthead Capital Management and director of football, Craig Gardner, the 41-year-old has struggled to get a tune out of his side on a consistent basis this season, even after an overhaul of players in January which saw a further £10m spent on the duo of Carlos Vicente and August Priske alone.
As such, Birmingham slumped down to 14th in the Championship with six matches to play, meaning they have very little but pride to play for.
As previously mentioned, supporters have started to turn the heat up on Davies, and that continued on social media after the Blues' boss post-match verdict was shared.

Despite, again, dominating possession, it was another encounter where Blues failed to make their chances count, with Rovers taking the lead 21 minutes from time as Todd Cantwell's powerful first-time strike flew past James Beadle, who had pulled off an impressive double save in the first period to keep the scores level.
Speaking to the club's official media post match, Davies said: "We haven't kept the back door shut.
"I think we've dominated possession, probably, again there today. I don't know. But, we've had a lot more entries into their final third, a lot more possession.
"You've got to give nothing away if it's like that," he added.
"Too often we've looked (like doing that). I mean, James Beadle makes a brilliant double save (in the first half).
"It's my challenge to make sure that we are solid if we're not quite attacking well enough," Davies explained.
"We need to win a match. We need to get that feeling back, and everything will sort of kick on from there.
"It's obviously a challenging time and a very difficult day for us."
Unsurprisingly, though, there were plenty of disgruntled Bluenoses reacting to those comments, with one believing Davies has said the same thing far too often this season.
"It’s another copy and paste interview from previous games, Monday's going to be a long journey and I just hope me and the other fans come back with something to smile about, but don’t think I’ve done that since the Norwich game. Something has to give and fast," they said.
Another was rather straight to their point, stating: Complete disgrace that he’s still in position. If he’s still here after today and all the recent performances, how much is too much for Knighthead? People in positions of power clearly too scared to act and it’s extremely worrying."
One Blues fan believes Davies has also done himself more harm than good in recent weeks: "I can’t help but feel sorry for him, but he’s too stubborn for his own good and it’s time to go, grateful for what he’s done in terms of the 111 and the promotion but we need to make changes"
As has been the case many times in recent games, the reaction to Blues having plenty of the ball but creating minimal opportunities was also very strong: "No point in having possession if you don’t do anything with it, clueless springs to mind and that’s down to the manager being more concerned about possession," another frustrated supporter believed.
Another Bluenose was quick to admit who they'd replace Davies with at St. Andrew's, commenting: "Sorry Chris it’s time to go, thanks for last year but you’ve not learned this season and keep picking your friends instead of our best players, good luck in the future, would love Dyche or Frank to come in."

After suffering the 1-0 loss, Davies also ensured that himself and the squad fronted up to the criticism after he issued some of his post-match debrief on the pitch.
Explaining the decision to do so afterwards, he said: “I think some of them were thinking of going off inside and I just said to the players that it’s important we do this.
“Ultimately we’re thanking the fans for supporting us, that’s why we’re walking around the pitch. It’s not nice if they’re booing or whatever, but you can’t just go round when you win and expect that when you lose you just don’t.
“Ultimately we’re thanking the fans for supporting us, that’s why we’re walking around the pitch. It’s not nice if they’re booing or whatever, but you can’t just go round when you win and expect that when you lose you just don’t," the Blues boss continued.
On the surface, the accumulation of 53 points from 40 games could normally be accepted from a side who have just won League One, but given the investment ploughed into many aspects of the club and Tom Wagner's ambition, it is no surprise Blues fans are frustrated.
They are also eight places and 11 points behind Wrexham, who they finished 19 points in front of last term, which will only add to the frustration felt at St. Andrew's.
It remains to be seen whether Knighthead will opt to make a summer change though, and next up for Blues is an away assignment at Ipswich Town on Easter Monday.
