Birmingham City manager Chris Davies has spoken out on Jack Robinson's situation
Birmingham City head coach Chris Davies has spoken out on the status of Jack Robinson at St Andrew's @ Knighthead Park, with the defender having endured a difficult start to life with the club following his move from Sheffield United.
Blues have experienced a combination of highs and lows so far this season, after arriving back in the Championship determined to fight towards the top of the division and compete for successive promotions.
Despite bringing operators such as Tommy Doyle, Kyogo Furuhashi and Demarai Gray during the summer window, Blues struggled to get going during the first third of the 2025/26 Championship campaign.
Davies’ side went on a run of winning just twice in their last 10 outings in all competitions, which led to calls from certain areas of the fanbase to dispose of the manager in favour of some new blood.
One of the main lowlights from this time period was the form of Robinson, who had been signed from Sheffield United in the summer.
In the span of three matches, the 32-year-old was sent off twice, which led to Birmingham coming out second best on both occasions. Naturally, this didn’t impress anyone connected with the club.

After serving his three-match ban for the second sending off, Robinson was named in the matchday squad for Blues’ next two league games, but has yet to feature again.
When speaking to Birmingham Live, Davies revealed how the defender’s situation was dealt with internally and the steps taken to move on.
“Jack is one of those where if you see him around day-to-day he’s got those leadership skills and he’s got the respect of people for what he’s achieved in the game and the longevity of his career and who he is.
“As he’s admitted himself, there are unfortunate mistakes that have been made and he’s completely owned those. I’m sure he’s keen to get back on the pitch and put them to bed.
“From our point of view, we’ve drawn a line under that. He’s someone who trains well every day.
“As I’ve said to him, I see him as a leader within although he’s not been here long.
“He’s a good character and he will add to our group and dressing room. I know when called upon he will be there.”
Robinson has made seven Championship appearances this season, three of which came whilst he was still contracted to Sheffield United.

Although Davies has decided to draw a line under Robinson’s misdemeanors, Birmingham City supporters may take slightly longer to come back round to him.
During what was a tough and testing period of their season, the defender decided to prioritise his own emotions over Blues’ success, which isn’t an act that will ever go down well with the fans.
Birmingham have since bounced back from their torrid run of form, winning three of their final five matches heading into the November international break to sit just four points shy of the play-offs after 15 matches.
This may have eased some of the ill-feeling towards Robinson, but the only way that the Birmingham faithful will ever truly forgive the 32-year-old is for him to start performing strongly on the pitch.
Over the course of 46 matches, injury problems are likely to occur and there may be a point when Robinson is depended upon to start regularly for the Second City side.
The defender will need supporters to be on his side in order to perform optimally, so he must make sure there are no repeats of his previous mishaps for the rest of this term.
