According to La Gazzetta dello Sport, Inter would still extend Simone Inzaghi’s contract even if the Italian tactician ends the current campaign without trophies.
Inter’s 3-0 loss against Milan on Wednesday ended their treble dreams in the current season, but the Nerazzurri are still running for the Serie A title and the Champions League.
Inzaghi’s contract expires in June 2026, but the Nerazzurri have been in talks over a new deal until 2027 for several months.

According to Gazzetta, Inter will be determined to extend their coach’s contract even without trophies this season.
“We are very happy with Inzaghi, his contract renewal is a formality,” Inter President Beppe Marotta said in a recent interview.
“He has worked really well over these years and he is a role model for the whole club from a technical point of view. He is one of the best managers around, and he also has the advantage of being a once-great footballer. We are very happy to have him with us and I think that, when all is said and done, we will get together with the club and renew his contract.”
The Nerazzurri are currently the leaders of Serie A, level on 71 points with Napoli, and have qualified for the Champions League semifinals, where they will play Barcelona.
Inter players returned to training on Friday after their loss in the derby on Wednesday, and the session began with an extended speech from Inzaghi.
Inter’s Serie A game against Roma, initially scheduled for today, has been postponed to Sunday, April 27, as a sign of respect on the day of Pope Francis’ funeral.
