The sell-on clause that QPR have for Eberechi Eze, as Arsenal explore a deal to sign the Crystal Palace star.

Queens Park Rangers could be in for a tidy payday if Arsenal secure the signing of Crystal Palace and England star Eberechi Eze this summer.

The Gunners have been busy already this summer as they've already wrapped up the signings of Noni Madueke, Martin Zubimendi, Cristian Mosquera, and look set to seal a deal to sign ex-Coventry City striker Viktor Gyokeres.

However, Mikel Arteta is seemingly keen to strengthen even further in a bid to bring the Premier League title to the Emirates Stadium, as the London club has been linked with a move for Crystal Palace star Ebere Eze, who they previously released at age 13.

The 27-year-old has had Arsenal explore his release clause in recent weeks, according to FlashScore, but the club are said to be uncertain as to how he would fit into their system.

Eze joined Palace from QPR in 2020, for a fee worth up to £20m, and the R's could be licking their lips at the prospect of more money coming their way this summer, if the attacker leaves Selhurst Park this summer, thanks to a sell-on clause.

It's been nearly five years since the former Eze joined Crystal Palace from QPR, and the former Arsenal academy product has gone on to continue his upward trajectory with the Eagles, which earned him a place in the England squad, before winning the FA Cup in 2025.

The 27-year-old signed for the R's development squad after a successful trial in 2016, having left Millwall previously. He first put his name on the map after an excellent loan spell with Wycombe Wanderers in League Two.

He returned to Loftus Road full of confidence, and went on to be a key player in the next few years, eventually earning a move worth up to £20m to fellow London side Crystal Palace, which also included a sell-on clause.

This clause was reported by Sky Sports at the time of the transfer to be 20%, which had been dormant for five years since the transfer, but it could finally come into play this summer, as Arsenal are interested in signing the Palace star.

How much QPR could pocket if Eze leaves Crystal Palace this summer

Another new era has begun at Loftus Road this summer, following the departure of Marti Cifuentes, and the arrival of his replacement, Julien Stephan, formerly of Stade Rennais and RC Strasbourg.

The Frenchman would more than welcome an extra cash windfall in the transfer budget for the final month of the summer transfer window, and could be in line to receive that if Arsenal decide to make their move for Eze.

As mentioned, Eze's contract at Crystal Palace has a release clause in it, which is reportedly worth £67.5m, meaning that a fee in that region is the absolute maximum the Eagles could receive for their star man.

If Arsenal activate this clause, QPR would pocket around £13.5m from the sale in an absolute best-case scenario, but if a lower bid comes in and is accepted, this figure will of course decrease.
