The future of the Stadio Giuseppe Meazza in San Siro will be decided upon within the next few days, as the city council will vote on the approval of the sale of the stadium on Monday evening. Here is what Inter and Milan need for the sale to go through.
The Mayor of Milan, Giuseppe Sala, confirmed last week that there is an agreement in place between the relevant parties to sell the San Siro site, including the iconic Stadio Giuseppe Meazza, to Milan and Inter, pending final approval from the city council.
The city council are meeting on Thursday evening to discuss the details surrounding the proposed sale.

The proposal will then be taken to a vote on Monday, September September 29. After that, Milan and Inter will have a definitive answer on the future of San Siro.
Meanwhile, the two clubs have already announced that they have entered partnerships with two architectural firms, Foster + Partners and MANICA, who will lead the design and redevelopment of the stadium if the city council gives their approval to the sale.

Milan has 48 elected city councillors, plus Mayor Sala, which means that a maximum of 49 individuals are able to participate in Monday’s vote.
A minimum of 25 city councillors are required to be in attendance for the proposed sale to be taken to a vote.
If the votes in favour outnumber the votes against, the sale of San Siro will be approved.
If the vote ends level, there will be one opportunity to repeat. However, if the vote remains level for a second time, then the proposal will be rejected.
According to reports from Calcio e Finanza, the councillors are currently split completely evenly in their voting intentions. 24 intend to vote in favour of the sale, including Sala, and 24 against. One councillor reportedly remains undecided.
