Chelsea have been stung by some bad individual mistakes in recent weeks, from defends and goalkeepers especially, and in his press conference yesterday Liam Rosenior was asked how he and his staff work on improvements in those areas.

“The way we work on mistakes is that we sit down with the players and go through a lot of clips,” Rosenior said in quotes featured on the official website.

“Reece [James, who was sat next to his manager at the presser] can tell you the number of times he’s been in our office, and sometimes it’s two or three clips we show the players. What you want to see after that is an improvement.”

The manager also made sure to point out how little time he has actually had to work with individuals.

“I’ve been here for two-and-a-half months, that’s the reality. It feels like a long time with the games we’ve had, but it takes time,” Rosenior noted.

“We don’t have much time left and we need to learn from the Leeds and Burnley games, where we dropped four points from winning positions at home.

“If we do that, with the consistency in our performances, such as winning 4-1 at Aston Villa in the last Premier League game, we are in a good place to do what we want to do.”
