It has been revealed by one Chelsea reporter this weekend when Blues players come to take in new information during a game to improve.
Rahman Osman, who was watching Chelsea beat Aston Villa 3-0 in the Premier League match at Stamford Bridge yesterday afternoon, spotted it when he was watching the game from behind the dugouts yesterday with a primary view of proceedings.
It was a very comfortable win for Chelsea in the end, they didn’t even need to elevate their own performance too much to get the win that was a thrashing. They simply just dominated the play and controlled possession for the majority of the game, and their opponents just could not get the ball off of them. It was professional and mature from Chelsea, with goals coming from Nicolas Jackson, Enzo Fernandez, and Cole Palmer, in that order.
There are often many breaks in play during games, and players will also often go over to their manager on the bench and take in water. But Maresca used this as an ideal time to improve some of his players play.
Maresca always communicating
Osman writes in his latest article for London World:
‘This is not a new thing, but it was quite evident again: almost every break in play saw Chelsea players coming to the bench for fresh information. Whether it’s after a goal is scored or someone is injured and needs treatment, at least one player comes to the bench. They first look for water, then take in new information to either improve their own game or pass it on to someone else.;
As he says, this is nothing new. But it seems like it was quite important for the players to come and listen to the manager during these periods to make sure they kept on top of the game and doing what was asked of them.
