Arsenal are up against Olympiacos in their next Champions League game after getting off to a winning start away to Athletic Bilbao.
The Gunners will now welcome Olympiacos to the Emirates Stadium for their first home game of the new European campaign as they once again try to finally win this competition for the first time in their history.
Arsenal are one of the Champions League’s big underachievers, having surprisingly only ever made it to one final, a 2-1 defeat to Barcelona in 2006, while last season marked only their third ever appearance at the semi-final stage.
Getting through the league phase will be important for Arsenal as they look to finally end their European hoodoo, so what can we expect from them in this game?
Arsenal have a bigger squad this season than they did last term after a busy summer transfer window, but it’s also fair to say they’ve once again had an unlucky start with injuries.
Kai Havertz, Noni Madueke and Gabriel Jesus are long-term absentees, while it’s not yet clear how fit the likes of Bukayo Saka, Martin Odegaard and Piero Hincapie might be for this game.
Here’s a possible Arsenal line up for the visit of Olympiacos…
Arsenal predicted line-up: Raya, Saliba, Gabriel, Timber, Calafiori; Zubimendi, Rice, Nwaneri; Saka, Eze, Gyokeres.

Follow the link here for Arsenal’s official ticketing page, but just keep in mind that you either need to be a season ticket holder or pay the not-exactly-cheap membership fees to even have a chance of getting into the queue.
A far safer bet is to use this link here to avoid the cost and complications associated with dealing directly with the club.
Meanwhile, the official page for Olympiacos tickets can be found here – just be aware again that it’s highly likely that existing season ticket holders and members will always have priority here.
This is also a big glamour tie for the Greek club, and away from home, they won’t get that many seats, so you’re far better off following this link here instead to ensure you don’t miss out on this exciting trip to the Emirates.

Although this feels like a game that should have a long history, it’s actually only happened twelve times in total, and for the first time as recently as 2009.
Since then, it’s been precisely 50-50 between these sides, with Arsenal winning six and Olympiacos winning the other six.
Remarkably, the Greek giants have also won their last three games against Arsenal at the Emirates – the kind of stat that sounds fake but is 100% true.
Arsenal’s record away to Olympiacos is slightly better, but could we see the visitors springing another shock when they come to north London next week? Let us know your predictions in the comments!
