Juventus’ priority in the January transfer window is a central midfielder, but the Bianconeri will likely look for reinforcements in attack and defence as well.

The Bianconeri have won seven of their last eight games across all competitions but remain one point below fourth-placed Roma.

It is no secret that Luciano Spalletti aims to get reinforcements in central midfield, possibly with a new deep-lying playmaker.

West Ham midfielder Guido Rodriguez has been offered to the Bianconeri and club directors are currently making their assessments on the Argentine.

According to Sky Sport Italia, Sandro Tonali remains Juventus’ priority, but the Italian is not going to leave Newcastle in the winter transfer window.

Davide Frattesi is another Juventus target, and even if the Inter midfielder is not exactly a Regista, Spalletti knows exactly how to get the best out of him, given that the 26-year-old was Italy’s best scorer during Spalletti’s tenure as the Azzurri boss.

Will Juventus get attacking reinforcements?

It remains to be seen whether Inter will agree to sell one of their players to a direct rival and whether Juventus will manage to match the Nerazzurri’s asking price, exceeding €30m.

Juventus will also be looking for a backup for Kenan Yildiz. For this role, Gazzetta has mentioned  Federico Chiesa (Liverpool), Simon Adingra (Sunderland), Kevin Schade, Mikkel Damsgaard (Brentford) and Gonzalo Garcia (Real Madrid) as the Old Lady’s targets.

The Turin-based giants are not expected to sign a new centre-back unless one of the central defenders in the team leaves this month. Gleison Bremer has recently returned to action, and the Bianconeri hope the Brazilian will be fit to play most of the games in the second part of the campaign.

There is, however, a chance that the Bianconeri will be looking for a new right-back, given that Joao Mario has been failing to adapt to Serie A football. Joao Cancelo is an option for January 2026, but Inter and Barcelona have also sounded out the Portuguese’s availability.

New sporting director Marco Ottolini, coming from Genoa, has set his sights on the Grifone right wing-back Brooke Norton-Cuffy, but the Englishman has a hefty price tag.
