History potentially beckons for Egypt as they prepare to take on Australia in their first-ever World Cup knockout match tonight.
The two teams meet at Dallas Stadium on Friday, having both finished as runners-up in their respective groups.
Egypt were pipped to top spot in Group G on goal difference by Belgium, while Australia finished behind co-hosts the USA in Group D.
The winner of tonight’s tie will take on either reigning champions Argentina or tournament debutants Cape Verde in the round of 16.
Here, Standard Sport assesses which Egyptian players to look out for…
One of the younger members of an ageing squad, Shobeir is Egypt’s undisputed No1.
One of just two players, alongside Shobeir, to play every minute for Egypt at this World Cup so far. 30-year-old right-back has been integral to their unbeaten start.
Started the comeback against New Zealand with a powerful header. Earned international recognition late in his career, but has flourished with three goals in five appearances.

Will go down as by far the best player Egypt have ever produced and a true Liverpool icon, leaving Anfield this summer with his next move still uncertain.
Yet to hit the same heights as some of the other big players at this World Cup, but got on the scoresheet against New Zealand.
Had been a doubt to face Australia due to a hamstring injury suffered in the 1-1 draw with Iran to close Group G.
Aston Villa fans will remember his solid, if unspectacular, spell at the club between 2019 and 2021. Now playing back in Egypt with Al Ahly.
His real name is Mahmoud Hassan, but a childhood nickname stuck after comparisons to former France striker David Trezeguet.
Potential: Hamza Abdelkarim joined Barcelona from Al Ahly earlier this year

Egypt will need to see more of him if they are to take the game to Australia. Talented player but endured a tricky season at Manchester City.
18-year-old forward recently signed for Barcelona. He has been used sparingly so far at the World Cup.
The only player in the squad born outside of Egypt. Hassan grew up in Paris, but has mainly plied his club trade in Spain. Yet to play a single minute at this World Cup.
