Charlie Gray made his senior debut on Wednesday evening, featuring as a sub in City’s Carabao Cup quarter-final game against Brentford at the Etihad.

The 19-year-old midfielder is the fifth Academy debutant of 2025/26.

Gray is a hard-working holding midfielder who is also capable of playing in a more box-to-box role.

His scanning, ability to read play, make vital tackles and interceptions stand out as some of his most impressive attributes, all of which have improved since he joined City’s Academy at Under-9s.

This isn’t Gray’s first time playing at our beloved home. He played every minute of City’s 4-0 FA Youth Cup final triumph over Leeds in 2024.

He also played a key role in City winning the Under-18 Premier League North title in 2023/24, making 15 appearances.

Gray then moved up to the EDS in 2024/25, helping Ben Wilkinson’s side win both Premier League 2 titles, totalling 20 appearances.
