Club América are in advanced talks to sign Colombian left-back Gabriel Rafael Fuentes Gómez for Clausura 2026, with a one-year loan and option to buy under discussion.

According to Americayya.net, the move is well advanced and has surprised some, as no further reinforcements beyond Vinicius Lima had been expected.

Fuentes, 28, is left-footed. He was born on 9 February 1997.

He began at Junior de Barranquilla, establishing himself as a reliable option in Colombia, then spent time on loan with Real Zaragoza. He joined Fluminense in September 2024, where he wears the number 12.

His profile includes energetic overlaps, strong one-v-one defending and an ability to contribute to build-up and chance creation with his left foot.

With Junior he won several domestic honours, including league titles and super cups, before moving to Brazil.
