Michael Carrick’s arrival has had a transformative impact on Manchester United, with the majority of players enjoying promising runs of form.
Senne Lammens is one such talent. The Belgian had established himself as United’s number one before Carrick took on the interim role, but under the Englishman, the youngster has looked even more commanding, keeping three clean sheets in six games.
Recently, Lammens insisted that the clarity of Carrick’s messaging has played a major role in United’s turnaround.
In contrast to Ruben Amorim, Michael Carrick has seemingly kept things simple and consistent, deploying Manchester United stars in their best roles and avoiding too many changes. However, not everyone at the club is delighted with their respective roles.
According to Football Insider, Altay Bayindir is unhappy with his role at United and “will seek a move away” when the summer transfer window opens.
The “top class” goalkeeper started the season as Amorim’s first-choice between the sticks. However, Lammens has been a regular starter for the Red Devils since early October.
The report states: “The Belgian goalkeeper eventually established himself as the firm first-choice and has continued to prove himself after the arrival of Michael Carrick.
“That has only led to more frustrations from Bayindir, who is now actively looking to move on when the window opens, and United are happy to oblige.”
United refused to cut ties with Bayindir during the January transfer window due to a lack of cover. However, they believe the Turkey international is not part of their plans for the future.
Considering his growing frustration under Carrick, the club’s hierarchy feel the time has come to part ways.
Earlier this week, The Peoples Person relayed a report claiming Besiktas recently had a meeting with United and an “agreement has been reached” between the two clubs over the 27-year-old’s transfer to the Super Lig in the summer.
The Premier League giants are “receptive to a €5m offer” for Bayindir, who has less than 18 months left on his contract with an option for another year.
