FLW's Blackburn fan pundit has revealed which two questions he would ask the current owners

November marks 15 years since the V H Group became Blackburn Rovers' new majority owners, and since then, it's been a tough number of years at Ewood Park.

Venky's first took over in November 2010, with the club in the Premier League. The former top-flight champions were relegated to the Championship in May 2012 and, since then, have spent more time in League One than they have in the Premier League.

Financially, it's not been the wisest investment from the Indian conglomerate, as the club continues to lose money on a day-to-day basis, and has had to sell key players such as Sammie Szmodics and Adam Wharton recently just to balance the books.

The Venky's are once again due in court in November as they battle the Indian Ministry of Finance in a case which has been publicly ongoing since 2023.

So, overall, it's not been a great past few years for the current Blackburn owners, and Football League World's Blackburn fan pundit, Simon Middlehurst, believes that, not only was the initial purchase nonsensical, but the fact that they haven't sold the club yet is even more baffling.

Blackburn Rovers fan pundit asks Venky's to sell the club

Football League World asked Middlehurst if he had one question to ask the current Blackburn ownership.

"I actually have two questions," he responded. "One, why did you buy the club in the first place, and two, why don't you sell the club?"

Blackburn have seemingly hit a ceiling as of late, with the hefty funds coming in from exciting player sales just being used to fund the club, rather than being invested in new players who will take them to the next level.

"They only really invest to keep the club running, they make a loss every season, the financial side is really public and the Venky's have court issues in India about how much money they can invest in their Western businesses," Middlehurst added.

"There's only so much more they can really afford to lose, so they should maybe look at selling the club."

Venky's stance on a sale of Blackburn Rovers - it won't please Rovers fans

Despite the pleas of the Blackburn fan pundit, Middlehurst's hopes of a sale don't look like they're going to come to fruition any time soon.

In April, Venky's stated that they did not want to sell the club, and even if they did, they hadn't received any legitimate offers to buy Blackburn from them.

There are clear frustrations with how the club is run by the Blackburn fans, as recent hefty sales haven't been put into bringing in new players for near those sums, and after an overly positive campaign last term, things are starting to sour once more, as it doesn't seem that Valerien Ismael's side will be challenging for the play-offs.

But ultimately, as is the case with the majority of Championship owners, they are operating at a loss, and with financial difficulties in their homeland, it seems confusing that they wouldn't look to cut ties with one of their, quite frankly, regressing investments at present.

In the meantime, Rovers fans will be waiting to see the outcome of yet another delayed court hearing involving their owners on November 12, and if it affects their club in any way.
