Flamengo and Bruno Henrique are moving towards a renewal for one more season, a deal that would run through to the end of 2027.
The club and the 35-year-old have agreed the duration and salary, and his wages will remain unchanged. GE reports that Flamengo did not even propose a pay cut.
When he renewed in 2024, he was among the squad’s top earners. That is no longer the case, with some team-mates now earning almost three times more.
President Bap wants him to stay at Flamengo until he decides to retire. The forward, a key dressing-room figure, is the first-choice captain and has a strong bond with the club and supporters.
Seen as a standard-bearer for Flamengo’s values, he has been with the club since 2019. He has made 355 appearances, scoring 113 goals and providing 56 assists.
Alongside Arrascaeta, he is among the most decorated players in the club’s history with 18 trophies, including three Libertadores, three Brasileiros and two Copas do Brasil.
With Bruno Henrique available, Flamengo face Fluminense on Sunday, 12 April, at the Maracanã in the 11th round of the Brasileiro. Kick-off is at 6pm Brasília time, live on Premiere pay-per-view.
