Why Man United’s shrewdest call is investing Antoine Semenyo millions in pursuit of Bruno heir Angelo Stiller

With the Antoine Semenyo transfer saga now firmly behind us, Manchester United can finally approach the winter window with a clear head. Crucially, they now have the chance to pull off the midfield deal they so desperately need.

Although the defence has begun to show cracks, it is the midfield that remains United’s weakest link. Their failure to strengthen it last summer, despite clear plans to do so, has hampered Ruben Amorim’s tactical blueprint. A shaky midfield leaves the backline exposed.

Amorim’s system cries out for control, energy and quality in the middle of the park. A young, dynamic midfielder would have provided exactly that.

Semenyo prioritised over a midfielder

United were willing to delay a midfield signing to chase Semenyo. In truth, that decision carried logic: he is a player the club have pursued for some time, having even come close to landing him last summer.

Thus, returning for the Bournemouth maverick felt entirely justified.

The Ghanaian international is a rare breed; a generational talent. His direct running, thunderous yet precise shooting, ambipedal ball‑striking and sheer physicality all underline his uniqueness. Strong as an ox and so versatile, he looks every inch a £100 million footballer. To secure him for £65 million was simply too tempting an opportunity to pass up.

Mission failed, but midfield hope remains

Yet, just as last summer, United have failed to get Semenyo over the line. He is bound for Manchester City instead.

While his snub is disappointing, the reality is clear: United did not truly need him. What they need, and what Amorim’s project yearns for, is a top‑class midfielder. And that is a deal INEOS can and should now deliver.

The fact that United were willing to trigger Semenyo’s release clause sends a loud message to the Old Trafford faithful that the funds are available this January. There can be no excuses.

Why not Angelo Stiller?

There are several midfielders United could target, but why not go all in for Angelo Stiller?

Recently, The Peoples Person reported that Stuttgart’s “midfield conductor” had been earmarked as a potential successor to Bruno Fernandes. Earlier claims suggested United were ready to outbid Real Madrid in his race, with INEOS prepared to spend £52 million to bring him to the Premier League.

It is obvious that United admire Stiller and view him as tailor‑made for Amorim’s project.

Ahead of the Villa clash, Amorim himself told the media that United would seek a player suited to their long‑term vision. Stiller fits that description perfectly.

At 24, his deep‑lying playmaking, high passing accuracy and tactical intelligence could provide the lift United’s midfield has been yearning for.

Stiller could unlock top‑four ambitions

INEOS should back Amorim, fix the midfield, and watch how far this team can go.

With one serious midfield addition, United can genuinely mount a push for a Champions League place.
