Serie A side Roma have been pushing for West Ham’s Crysencio Summerville once again but they face a major race against time in their chase.

Alfredo Pedulla provides some background in the matter, revealing that the player’s agents have a private agreement with West Ham over a clause of £45 million, which applies to all the suitors. This is active for ten more days but this isn’t the problem that Roma are facing.

It is the player’s salary that is causing a hold-up. Roma are happy to offer the Dutchman a salary of £4.5 million per season, which hasn’t quite found a favour with the player yet, as he wants a wage in the region of £6 million. He is quite interested in the move, though, and has put Roma at the top of his wishlist.

Roma are now ready to push ahead and find any openings that help him at that. This means Alejandro Garnacho is the alternative, with Summerville now the top-choice for the attacking positions.

English clubs still a threat

Pedulla does indicate that English clubs remain interested and that should be Roma’s biggest threat. They have a higher paying capacity and the clause shouldn’t be a major problem for them at all. This is something Roma should be wary of, especially when the clock ticks down.
