Carlo Ancelotti the legendary Italian tactician and current Brazil head coach has backed his former player Cristiano Ronaldo to achieve what many once considered impossible reaching 1000 career goal.

Speaking in an exclusive interview with AS, Ancelotti expressed total confidence in his former Real Madrid superstar who has already scored 953 goal for club and country across his glittering career.

"He’ll get there, without doubt" Ancelotti said with conviction. "In Italy they asked me recently about Modric and I told them he could still perform at the top level even at 40. Luka & Cristiano are true professionals , they love football deeply"

"They always achieve what they set their minds to. Cristiano will absolutely reach the 1000 goal mark. But when he does, he’d better invite me to the celebration!" he added with smile.

Ancelotti’s comments reflect the growing belief that Ronaldo’s dream milestone is within reach. Having scored 716 club goal and 127 international goal, the five time Ballon d’Or winner now stands just 47 goal away from the mythical 1000 mark — a record no player in modern football has ever touched.

"The New King of Football"?

When asked who might inherit football’s throne in the post Messi - Ronaldo era, Ancelotti refused to crown successor emphasizing the exceptional quality of today’s young stars.

"It’s hard to say who the next king of football will be" he admitted. "There are only few players at extraordinary level. Real Madrid have Mbappe & Bellingham and Yamal is doing incredible things at such young age"

He also praised Raphinha & Erling Haaland highlighting their impact despite recent setbacks:

"Raphinha’s injured now but he’s very good player — he showed that last season. And Haaland keeps scoring for City, he’s pure goalscorer".
