Wolves are interested in Torino striker Che Adams, who is open to returning to England from Italy in the summer window.

Wolves have had a very busy summer so far, with Cesar Peixoto having been named as Rob Edwards’ successor as head coach at Molineux.

That was a decision that came out of the blue, but the Wanderers' hierarchy clearly felt it was a necessary call as they look to bounce back to the Premier League at the first attempt.

The Black Country outfit have also been active in reshaping their squad, with Andre committing his future to the club, whilst they have also secured Kieran Trippier and Raul Jimenez on free transfers, with both deals seen as major coups.

Wolves are monitoring Che Adams, who is keen on returning to English football

Nevertheless, there is still a lot of work for Wolves to do ahead of the new season, although Peixoto will need to assess the players as he tries to implement his style of play.

But it seems apparent that Wolves will be in the market for a new striker, and reports from Italy have claimed that Torino’s Che Adams is a target.

The former Birmingham City man was linked with a switch to Molineux in January, and he was on their radar again earlier in the summer.

However, the sacking of Edwards meant it was unclear whether Wolves would still try to pursue Adams, but it has been said that he remains under consideration.

As well as that, the update states that the Scotland international would be keen on returning to England, but there is interest from Venezia, who have offered Torino around £4m, so a deal may not be straightforward, but Wolves would hope that Adams’ willingness to return home could help their case.

Cesar Peixoto will need to quickly decide on Wolves’ striker situation

With Jimenez having sealed a return to Wolves, he is certain to be the main number nine this season, with Peixoto expected to go with a 4-2-3-1 formation.

But, at 35, Peixoto will have to manage the Mexican carefully, and it would be unrealistic to think that he would be able to play 46 games, as we know the fixtures come thick and fast in the Championship.

Adam Armstrong is also at the club, but he may lack the physical profile to be the focal point for Wolves, even if Peixoto will surely try to find a role for the ex-Southampton man, who has been a brilliant player at this level over the years.

Another striker on Wolves’ books is Sasa Kalajdzic, with the striker currently at the World Cup with Austria.

He enjoyed a fantastic loan spell with LASK in his home country, with Kalajdzic starring as they completed a historic league and cup double.

Yet, his injury record is a major concern, and there will be doubts over whether the 6ft7in striker is capable of dealing with the physical demands of the Championship.

Plus, with his contract ending in 2027, Wolves may see this as a last chance to recoup some money for the target man, so conversations will need to take place when Austria exit the tournament.

Therefore, Wolves aren’t in a desperate situation, but they could already do with at least one more striker, and that could potentially be two if Kalajdzic does depart.

Interest in Adams is understandable, and even though the fans may expect Jorge Mendes' clients to be in Wolves’ sights, they will also need players who are proven in the Championship.

Clearly, there is a deal there to be done, and Adams has the attributes that Peixoto will want from his striker, as he can link the play, run the channels, and is mobile enough to stretch the opposition.

So, this could be one to watch, and if Adams was available for around £5m, it is the sort of low risk signing that could really benefit Wolves as they chase promotion, even if it may not be the most eye-catching transfer.
