Aleksandar Pavlovic is currently causing question marks at FC Bayern and uncertainty is also growing for Julian Nagelsmann. The midfielder is struggling with hip problems and now even his trip to the national team is in doubt.

The 21-year-old had to pull out of the 4-0 win against Union Berlin at short notice and it was announced shortly before kick-off that hip problems were the reason for his absence, a setback for Munich during an intense phase.

Coach Vincent Kompany already referred to the heavy workload of recent weeks. „We’ve tried everything, but when the games come so quickly, it’s not so easy,“ the Belgian explained on Sky before the game. At the same time, he emphasized: „Pavlo is in good shape, but he will still be very important for us in the coming weeks.“

What will happen next is currently completely open. According to BILD, no final decision has yet been made as to whether Pavlovic will travel to the national team.

The injury is not currently considered serious, but those responsible do not want to take any risks. A decision is to be made in close consultation between the doctors, Julian Nagelsmann and the player himself. It is also clear that Pavlovic should only travel to the national team if there is no risk of aggravating the injury.

After the game, sporting director Christoph Freund had already indicated that patience was required. „We will discuss it,“ he said on Sky and made it clear: „It would be bad for everyone involved if he were to suffer something worse. We have to be careful.“

Kompany also deliberately kept a low profile with regard to the national team. „That’s not my topic,“ explained the Bayern coach, adding later: „I’ll talk to Julian [Nagelsmann] again. We’re always in close contact.“

The DFB only have friendlies against Switzerland and Ghana coming up in the next few days, but a possible omission would still be a setback for Pavlovic personally, as he wants to earn a place in the starting eleven ahead of the World Cup.
