Three Bayern players got off to winning starts in the October international break on Thursday as Konrad Laimer, Michael Olise and Minjae Kim all picked up three points. Harry Kane sat out England’s 2-1 defeat to Greece.

Laimer victorious over Kazakhstan

Austria claimed a convincing 4-0 win over Kazakhstan in Linz. Laimer started in central midfield and saw his team go ahead inside 10 minutes through Christoph Baumgartner. Two more goals shortly after the restart from Philipp Lienhart and Marcel Sabitzer gave Ralf Rangnick’s side breathing space.

Laimer was subbed off after 76 minutes before Matthias Seidel added a fourth. It was Austria’s first win of this year’s Nations League and keeps them in second place in Group B3. They host leaders Norway on Sunday (8.45pm CEST).

Olise starts against Israel

Michael Olise won his third senior cap for France against Israel.

Olise won his third senior cap for France as he started the 4-1 win over Israel. The 22-year-old was played in the No.10 role in Budapest as Eduardo Camavinga put Didier Deschamps’ side ahead early on. Omri Gandelman levelled for Israel midway through the first half, before Christopher Nkunku quickly restored the advantage.

The game remained open until the 87th minute until substitutes Matteo Guendouzi and then Bradley Barcola added a couple more for Les Bleus. Olise had gone off in the 70th minute. The result keeps France a point behind leaders Italy in Group A1. They visit Brussels to face Belgium on Monday (8.45pm CEST).

Kim and Korea stay top

Kim was in 2026 World Cup qualifying action as well on Thursday as South Korea claimed a 2-0 win in Jordan to stay top of Group B in the third round of Asian qualification. Jae-sung Lee and Hyeon-gyu Oh got the goals, with Bayern’s defender captaining the side and playing the full 90 minutes. Korea next host Iraq, who are behind in second place only on goal difference, on Tuesday (8pm local time/1pm CEST).
