With three fresh faces, São Paulo step up preparations to face Inter

The São Paulo squad returned to SuperCT on Sunday morning and resumed preparations for the match against Internacional in the 37th round of the Brazilian Championship. The clash will take place on Wednesday at 8 p.m. (Brasília time) at Vila Belmiro.

Coach Hernán Crespo had three new faces in the ball work. Arboleda, Luciano, and Ferreira were cleared by the medical department to participate in training alongside their teammates.

The Ecuadorian defender, who is recovering from a muscle injury in the back of his left thigh, took part in the activities in an adapted manner. Ferreira, who has shown improvement in pain caused by swelling in his left thigh, and Luciano, recovered from pain in his right leg, trained normally.

In addition to the trio, São Paulo hopes that left-back Wendell, recovered from a partial rupture of the plantar fascia, will start training on the field this Monday.

How was the training?

The first exercises of the day were led by the fitness coaches, with strength work in the gym and a physical circuit on the pitch focusing mainly on core stimulation and acceleration drills.

Next, Crespo led a technical fundamentals training session and divided the squad into groups for small-sided games.

The São Paulo squad will train again this Monday at SuperCT.

Luciano – Recovered from trauma in the right leg, trained normally this Sunday.
Ferreira – With improvement in swelling in the left thigh, trained normally this Sunday.
Arboleda – Returned after a muscle injury in the left thigh and trained in an adapted format.
Wendell – Recovered from a partial rupture of the plantar fascia, starts field training this Monday.
Calleri – Training with the ball with reduced restrictions and working on physical improvement.
Ryan – Undergoing post-surgery treatment on the ACL of the left knee; progressing in strengthening and running.
André Silva – Treating ligament injuries in the right knee; advancing in strengthening and intense running.
Luan – In rehabilitation after removal of calcification in the right adductor, focusing on symptom control.
Oscar – Resting at home after being diagnosed with vasovagal syncope.
Dinenno – After arthroscopy on the meniscus of the right knee, doing exercises on the pitch with controlled contact.
Enzo – Resting after herniorrhaphy to correct an occult inguinal hernia.
Lucas – Undergoing treatment on the right knee, focusing on strengthening and motor control.
Rodriguinho – With a respiratory issue, doing indoor training and complementary aerobic work.
