Danny Bachmann, the agent of VfB Stuttgart striker Nick Woltemade, has broken silence on Bayern Munich’s interest in his client.
Stuttgart recently rejected a second offer from Bayern worth €50 million plus €5 million in bonuses for Woltemade and are refusing to negotiate with the German champions unless an “extraordinary” offer is made.
Bachmann is now questioning why a bid worth €55 million – which would represent a club-record sale for Stuttgart – wasn’t enough to initiate talks.
“If a Bundesliga record offer of €55 million isn’t even enough for a personal meeting, the question arises what exactly the VfB considers extraordinary. That was not foreseeable,” Bachmann told DPA.
Reports suggest Stuttgart will only consider talks if an offer of at least €65 million is tabled.
Time will tell if Bachmann's remarks will prompt a change in stance from the Swabian club.
