Wolves have agreed a deal to sign Colombian winger Jhon Arias from Fluminense, according to ESPN. The agreement is worth €22 million (£25.5 million) for 90 percent of Arias’ sporting rights, with Fluminense retaining a 10 percent sell-on clause and a preferential return option.
Arias, 27, has been instrumental for the Brazilian side since his arrival in 2021, contributing 47 goals and 55 assists in 229 appearances. He featured in all six of Fluminense’s Club World Cup fixtures this summer, scoring once and assisting another.
Arias also lifted the Copa Libertadores with Fluminense in 2023, underlining his pedigree on the South American stage. His final appearance for the club is expected to come on July 17 at the Maracanã against Cruzeiro.

Wolves’ willingness to invest in a player of Arias’ experience and output signals their commitment to building attacking depth ahead of the new season. For Fluminense, the deal reflects the growing value of South American talent in the European market.
Jhon Arias is not just a numbers player, he is a winner, a creator, and someone who has proven himself at the highest levels of South American football.
To have a winger who’s produced over 100 goal contributions in just under 230 games, and who was part of a Copa Libertadores-winning side, adds both class and cutting edge to the Wolves squad. The fact that he played every game in the Club World Cup this summer shows the trust and durability he brings, and his ability to perform on big stages.
What’s particularly exciting is that this deal feels smart and forward-thinking. €22 million for a 27-year-old in his prime, with versatility, international experience, and proven output, is the kind of calculated risk that could pay off massively. It shows Wolves are not just shopping for squad players, they are looking for leaders.
With his work ethic and direct style, Arias could quickly become a fan favourite at Molineux.
