Wolves cancelled a training session on Monday after striker Tolu Arokodare refused to leave the first-team group, according to ExpressAndStar.com.

The flashpoint prompted the club to draft in extra security to prevent a recurrence. Arokodare will not feature in Wednesday’s friendly at Maidenhead United.

He is not banned from the training ground. He is widely expected to leave this summer and his exit appears increasingly acrimonious, an early headache for new boss Cesar Peixoto.

The 25-year-old did not initially travel to last week’s warm-weather camp in Portugal, receiving a late call-up only after fellow forward Adam Armstrong was injured.

Signed from Genk for £24 million last summer, he scored just three Premier League goals as Wolves were relegated from the top flight.

In April he faced disciplinary action following a dressing-room altercation with team-mate Mateus Mane during the 4-0 defeat at West Ham, when he was the sole aggressor.

Wolves recently accepted Trabzonspor’s bid to take him on loan, but the player rejected the move.
