Wolverhampton Wanderers have secured the permanent signing of Adam Armstrong from Southampton.

The deal is reported to be worth £7 million upfront, potentially rising to £9 million with add-ons. The striker has put pen to paper on a three-and-a-half-year contract at Molineux.

The move comes as Wolves move quickly to fill the gap left by Jørgen Strand Larsen, who departed earlier in the transfer window. Armstrong completed his medical on Monday after Wolves submitted a deal sheet to the Premier League, using the extra time allowed after the 7pm deadline to finalise the transfer.

Armstrong, who had 18 months remaining on his Saints contract, scored 11 goals this season and departs St Mary’s after four-and-a-half years, having notched 43 goals in 174 appearances.

The English forward brings proven Premier League experience to Wolves’ attack, offering the club a reliable option up front as they look to boost their goal threat for the remainder of the season.
