Wolves are heading into a 25-day hiatus after Brentford, switching from a punishing run to an unusually long break.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, they squeezed eight matches into four weeks from February to early March, including two midweek and two Friday night fixtures.

By kick-off at Brentford on Monday night they will have had 10 days to recover and prepare, then they will not play again for 25 days. The pause is due to the Arsenal fixture being rearranged for their Carabao Cup exploits, the international break and Wolves’ FA Cup exit.

To bridge the gap, the club are arranging behind-closed-doors friendlies so players stay fit and sharp.

Rob Edwards said the gap would be interesting and outlined a plan that gives those staying some downtime before a couple of strong training weeks.
