Lifelong Wolves supporter Wol 'Wal' Wallbank, who features in the club’s official launch video, says fans instantly embraced the 2026/27 home shirt marking the club’s 150th anniversary and reviving the traditional Old Gold.

According to ExpressAndStar.com, the design followed months of consultation between Wolves, manufacturer SUDU and supporter groups, with fans influencing the shade of gold and heritage touches.

Wallbank was among a small group invited to the unveiling at Molineux’s club shop and described the shirt as exactly what supporters wanted. He highlighted the Old Gold and crest, noting he has the historic emblem tattooed on his shoulder and the current badge on the back of his head.

Club historian Peter Crump contributed to the process to ensure the kit reflects a history dating back to 1877.

The shirt is the centrepiece of the club’s 150th anniversary celebrations and early reaction has been positive among supporters keen to see tradition front and centre.

Wallbank said it was an honour to be involved in a launch few could attend. He added that he kept details from friends by deflecting questions until the reveal and believes the final design balances past and future in a way many fellow fans welcome.
