Wolves host Brentford on Saturday afternoon in a desperate bid to save their season.
Rob Edwards’ side are currently bottom of the Premier League and are the only team in the top seven tiers of English football without a win. Crucially, a defeat here would mark their 10th consecutive league loss.
The hosts were cruelly denied a point against Arsenal last week due to a late own goal. However, performances have shown slight improvement. Facing a Brentford team that struggles badly away from home presents perhaps the best chance yet for Wolves to secure that elusive first victory.
Rob Edwards is navigating a severe selection crisis, particularly in defence. Yerson Mosquera is suspended, while Emmanuel Agbadou has left for the Africa Cup of Nations. Consequently, the manager must reshuffle his backline. Santiago Bueno and Matt Doherty are expected to come into the side.
In midfield, the injury list includes Rodrigo Gomes, Marshall Munetsi, and Jean-Ricner Bellegarde. Up front, there is a battle for the starting striker spot. Tolu Arokodare scored his first Premier League goal against Arsenal and is pushing to start. He is expected to partner Hwang Hee-chan, with Jørgen Strand Larsen potentially dropping to the bench.
Wolves predicted XI: Johnstone; Doherty, Bueno, Toti; Tchatchoua, Gomes, Krejčí, André, Wolfe; Arokodare, Hwang
