Manchester United earned a well-deserved point after playing a four-goal thriller with Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday.
United defender Lisandro Martinez put his side ahead only to see Cody Gakpo levelling the score after just seven minutes.
The hosts took the lead for the first time via Mohamed Salah but Amad Diallo’s 80th minute equaliser helped United to clinch a crucial point.
A huge moment of the clash came in the 89th minute as Liverpool surged forward on a blistering counter-attack.
Mohamed Salah played a brilliant pass to Darwin Nunez inside the box.
Leny Yoro, who was in Liverpool’s box, ran with breakneck pace towards United’s penalty area before executing a stunning sliding tackle that thwarted Nunez’s certain goal.
He also completed 100% of passes.
Yoro came on the pitch in the 83rd minute for Matthijs de Ligt who conceded the penalty to Salah earlier.
The 19-year-old put in a superb cameo and drew praise from journalist Samuel Luckhurst.
He wrote on X: “Yoro has put in a world-class tackle and now he’s sprinting into the Liverpool area looking to get a winner. Breathless end to this.”
The young starlet was swift in his decision-making, going to ground with precision and executing the tackle flawlessly.
That single tackle showcased exactly why the Red Devils were so eager to sign him last summer, undeterred by his injury concern.
They splashed an eye-whooping £52 million to beat Real Madrid in the transfer battle.
Manager Paulo Fonseca previously described the defender as ‘very ambitious‘.
Amorim could reward Yoro by starting him against Arsenal on Sunday.
