The Lions of Teranga pulled off a dramatic comeback against the Leopards of DR Congo on Tuesday night in a high-voltage encounter.
The 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers continued on Tuesday evening with five fixtures on the schedule. In Group B’s headline showdown, Senegal staged a sensational turnaround to defeat the Democratic Republic of Congo 3-2. After early goals from Bakambu (26’) and Wissa (33’) put DR Congo ahead, Senegal replied through P. Gueye (39’), Jackson (53’), and P. Sarr (87’) to clinch a memorable victory.
With this win, Senegal reclaims the top spot in the group. Meanwhile, Togo secured a convincing 2-0 win over Sudan. In Group C, the much-anticipated clash between table-toppers South Africa and Nigeria ended in a 1-1 stalemate. Elsewhere, Egypt was held to a goalless draw in Burkina Faso but retains first place in Group A.
Group B:
