After snatching a precious draw in Franceville (0-0) back in September, Côte d’Ivoire has maintained its grip on the top spot in Group F, sitting just one point ahead of the Panthers.

Emerse Faé’s men are targeting two victories to seal the deal: first against Seychelles on Friday, then against Kenya next Tuesday. If they claim both wins, they’ll punch their ticket to a fourth World Cup appearance after 2006, 2010, and 2014, without having to worry about the other group results.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and his teammates are still in the hunt. For Gabon to qualify, they’ll need to defeat Gambia and Burundi, while hoping Côte d’Ivoire stumbles at least once.

Should things go awry for Gabon in these final two matchdays, they can still hope for a playoff spot as consolation.
