England are set to take on Croatia – so don’t miss out on last-minute World Cup tickets with our guide on how to buy England vs Croatia tickets.
Thomas Tuchel was appointed as Gareth Southgate’s replacement to finally take England that step further in major tournaments after those near-misses in Euro 2020 and 2024.
The Group L clash against Croatia is not the easiest start for England, but can the Three Lions get some revenge for that painful semi-final defeat from the 2018 World Cup?
World Cup tickets have not been cheap or easy to come by, but you can get more info about availability on FIFA’s official website here.
Still, we’d highly recommend our alternative here that has competitive prices, an easy-to-navigate site, and a 150% money-back guarantee for your peace of mind.

There are some big questions for Tuchel about his England line-up for this game, and indeed for the tournament as a whole.
Michael Owen has suggested that Tuchel rotates heavily in the group stage, possibly giving key players like Harry Kane just 45 minutes of playing time.
There have also been debates about Jude Bellingham or Morgan Rogers in the central attacking midfield role, while it’s unclear at the moment if Bukayo Saka is fully fit and able to start.
With all that in mind, here’s our best bet at a predicted England line-up to take on Croatia…
England XI: Pickford; James, O’Reilly, Guehi, Konsa; Rice, Anderson; Madueke, Bellingham, Gordon; Kane.

Although there have been a few memorable defeats for England against Croatia – that World Cup semi-final, and that home defeat that cost the team a place at Euro 2008 – the Three Lions actually have a good record in this fixture.
Overall, England have won six, lost three, and drawn two against these opponents, including two wins and one draw in the three games since the 2018 World Cup semi-final.
Given that this is also not exactly a vintage Croatia side, full of ageing stars like Luka Modric and Ivan Perisic who are now past their best, this could be a good opportunity for England to make a real statement at the start of this tournament.
The format of this year’s expanded World Cup means many teams finishing third in their group will qualify for the knockout stages.
With Croatia the toughest fixture, and Ghana and Panama the other two teams in Group L, it’s hard to see England messing this up.
Perhaps we shouldn’t speak too soon, but this is a very winnable group and a strong start should make it pretty plain sailing from there.
