Seven Inter players are representing their countries at the 2026 FIFA World Cup. The tournament, being held across the United States, Mexico and Canada, got underway on 11 June and will conclude on 19 July.

The Nerazzurri players involved are: Lautaro Martínez (Argentina), Ange-Yoan Bonny (Ivory Coast), Petar Sučić (Croatia), Marcus Thuram (France), Manuel Akanji (Switzerland), Hakan Çalhanoğlu (Turkey) and Denzel Dumfries (Netherlands).

ARGENTINA - GROUP J

A perfect start for reigning champions Argentina, who claimed their first three points thanks to a magnificent hat-trick from Leo Messi in a 3-0 victory over Algeria. Lautaro also impressed after being named in the starting XI by Lionel Scaloni, playing 55 minutes before making way for Julian Alvarez.

Croatia's World Cup campaign began with defeat as they went down 4-2 to England in an entertaining contest. The Croatians responded to Harry Kane's brace through goals from Martin Baturina and Bruno Petkovic, but second-half strikes from Jude Bellingham and Marcus Rashford secured victory for England. Petar Sucic made his tournament debut, playing the full 90 minutes and providing the assist for Baturina's equaliser.

FRANCE - GROUP I
