According to ExpressAndStar.com, Wrexham top scorer Kieffer Moore has made good progress in his recovery from a hamstring injury ahead of Friday’s trip to West Brom.

The striker missed Wales’ World Cup play-off defeat to Bosnia-Herzegovina on penalties, having not played for his club since the 4-2 FA Cup loss to Chelsea a month ago. He has sat out the last four matches, which brought two wins and two defeats, and has 13 goals this season.

Manager Phil Parkinson said Moore is making really good progress and has shown positive signs in training, describing it as great news.

Wrexham will be without influential former Coventry midfielder Ben Sheaf at The Hawthorns, sidelined since February. It was initially feared he had suffered a season-ending knee injury, but the ex-Arsenal youngster has begun running as his rehabilitation steps up.

Left-back Libby Cacace and midfielder Matty James also remain out. Cacace’s first season in English football has been interrupted by injuries, while James, 34, has not played since early February with a fractured toe and Parkinson has admitted the issue is worse than first thought.

Wrexham resume after the international break on the fringes of the Championship play-offs, just outside on goal difference. They were beaten 3-2 by the Baggies in north Wales in the second weekend of the season, but have impressed overall, particularly in the second half of the campaign. Two defeats in the last four have checked momentum yet they remain close to the top six.
