Nikita Parris came back to haunt her old club as the Brighton striker netted in their 1-1 draw with Manchester United.

Scorers: Parris 52′; Clinton 10′

United were in fine form coming into this clash on the Sussex coast and got off to the perfect start as Grace Clinton gave the Red Devils a lead after only 10 minutes.

It was a real striker’s finish from Clinton, who got ahead of Brighton goalkeeper Sophie Baggaley and prodded in from six yards out.

The hosts enjoyed long spells of possession but couldn’t break down United’s stubborn defence as they led going into the break.

Into the second half though, and Brighton got themselves level soon after the restart as Nikita Parris headed home against her old club.

And that was how it stayed as United stayed top whilst the Seagulls went into second place in the table.
