Xabi Alonso has complete backing of Real Madrid amidst tension with Vinicius | OneFootball

A new report from AS has revealed that Real Madrid are fully backing Xabi Alonso following the post-El Clasico controversy involving Vinicius Jr. 

The Brazilian’s angry reaction to being substituted during Sunday’s clash against Barcelona has caused friction within the squad, but the club’s stance is clear that they are standing firmly behind their coach.

According to the outlet, Real Madrid are frustrated with Vinicius’s behaviour, describing his visible frustration on the sidelines as an unnecessary tantrum. 

Inside the club, there is no debate about who they support.

“The club is completely behind Xabi in any decision he makes,” AS reports, even emphasising that Alonso has “earned the right to make mistakes.” 

What happens now?

In response to Vinicius’ antics, Real Madrid are reportedly considering an internal disciplinary measure to ensure such behaviour is not repeated. 

Beyond that, the club’s captains and other senior figures are expected to have a serious talk with Vinicius.

As the team’s third captain, he is expected to set an example, not create unnecessary tension.

After all the drama, it is said that Alonso himself is also preparing to speak directly with Vinicius, a conversation described as both “necessary and complicated.” 

The feeling within the club is that the Brazilian believes Alonso doesn’t fully trust or like him, which has made their working relationship fragile.

Nevertheless, Real Madrid’s hierarchy is drawing a firm line that the authority of the coach must be respected. 

While they acknowledge Vinicius’s talent and importance, they believe no player can place himself above the team. 

As things stand, the message from the Bernabéu is loud and clear — Xabi Alonso’s word is final, and the club will not tolerate behaviour that disrupts the unity of the dressing room.
