New deal for Wydad.
Yahia Attiyat-Allah signs with Wydad: The deal is done!
After weeks of tug-of-war and anticipation over the fate of the deal for the former Al-Ahly player, today it appears that the deal has been completed and that an agreement has been reached between the Russian and Moroccan sides to return the player to his home country, Morocco, and to his mother club as well.
The 29-year-old left-back played for Al Ahly before moving to Europe with Russian club FK Sotchi. The Moroccan club then wanted to bring the player back to the club and complete the deal. Press reports indicated that the player reached an official agreement with Wydad on Friday, August 1st, and the deal was delayed due to some delays on the part of the Russian side.
Yahia Attiyat-Allah’s transfer to Wydad Casablanca has been finalized for a sum of $650,000 (€561,000), with the payment structured in two installments as requested by the Russian side. Wydad, eager to bring back their former key player during this summer transfer window, expedited the deal to secure his return.
Having previously played for Wydad between 2020 and 2023, Attiyat-Allah is no stranger to Casablanca. During his first stint, he made 166 appearances, scoring 11 goals and providing 23 assists. His contributions were instrumental in Wydad’s triumphant 2022 CAF Champions League campaign, solidifying his reputation as a vital asset for the club.
Last season, the Moroccan international was on loan at Al Ahly SC, where he featured in 22 matches, netting once and setting up three goals. Known for his defensive solidity and attacking threat, his skill set convinced Wydad’s technical staff to bring him back into the fold.
His return not only excites the fans but also signals Wydad’s strong ambitions for the upcoming season. After cutting ties permanently with FK Sochi, Attiyat-Allah had also been in talks with ES Tunis, according to exclusive reports from Africafoot.
