Tanzanian giants Young Africans have parted ways with head coach Romain Folz, Foot Africa has established.

The 35-year-old mentor was appointed in July 2025 after leaving his role as Sporting Director of Algerian Ligue 1 outfit Olympique Akbou.

During his stint in Dar es Salaam, Folz guided Yanga to a Community Shield title at the expense of fierce rivals Simba SC last month.

Moreover, he masterminded a 5-0 aggregate win over Angola side Williette Benguela in the first preliminary round of the CAF Champions League.

In the Tanzanian Premier League, the former Mamelodi Sundowns assistant coach won one match and drew the other encounter.

It was the goalless stalemate with newly promoted Mbeya City that sparked supporters’ discontent over the team’s style of play under the Frenchman.

Now, an insider close to the matter has informed this publication that Madagascar national team head coach Romuald Rakotondrabe has been earmarked as a potential candidate to take over.

Sources have indicated the new Yanga boss is expected to touchdown in the upcoming days ahead of signing his contract.
