According to Le Progres, ASSE have appointed former Montpellier boss Yannick Chandioux to lead their women’s team as they battle to stay in the Première Ligue.

This follows another defeat at Dijon this week, and the situation is increasingly urgent. They are three points behind the first side outside the relegation places, Lens, whom they face at the end of the month.

The team will now work under a third coach this season, and a fifth across the past two seasons.

Sébastien Joseph was dismissed after insulting remarks made during the derby. Chandioux, 50, was let go by Montpellier in early February and has now been confirmed as first-team head coach.

He has five matches to change the picture and keep ASSE in the top flight. His contract runs until the end of the season, with an optional additional year.
