Youri Tielemans set to depart Aston Villa for Manchester United | OneFootball

Sudinfo’s Kevin Sauvage has revealed that Youri Tielemans is set to leave Aston Villa this summer to join Manchester United. The captain of the Belgian national team will cost Manchester United around €40m. Tielemans is apparently undergoing a medical with Manchester United ahead of his move from Aston Villa. The former Anderlecht midfielder had to miss Belgium’s World Cup quarter-final against Spain due to suffering a muscle strain during the warm up and it proved to be a big miss for Belgium in midfield. The 29-year-old was in fine form at the tournament, scoring twice in the Round of 32 to help the Red Devils come from behind to beat Senegal in dramatic fashion.

Manchester Untied have clearly been impressed with what Tielemans has done in English football since joining Leicester from Monaco back in 2019. Tielemans played 182 games for Leicester City, scoring 25 goals and helping the side win the FA Cup in 2021. After joining Aston Villa in 2023, the midfielder helped the side to win the Europa League last season. He has played 134 games for Aston Villa, scoring 10 goals. He now is set to join Manchester United as Michael Carrick begins to revamp a side that have underperformed for a long time.
