We’re speaking a bit about Youssef Chermiti today with the £10M man finally having bagged a goal. But it’s his celebration which really took the cake at Ibrox, after the Portuguese did something unexpected amid Youssef Chermiti’s gesture.
Amid celebrating his maiden strike for the boys in blue, the former Everton failure had the absolute gall to take a dig.
As in, apparently, at Rangers fans. He was seen, as shown in the photos, offering the old ‘shut up’ and ‘you talk rubbish’ gesture after his strike went in. The red tops have already picked up on this, unsurprisingly, and many Rangers supporters are not impressed at all.

Essentially his reaction was as if he’s silenced his critics. We can’t say a single goal since the summer has managed to do that.
Chermiti showed staggering arrogance there. He may have felt in the moment utter redemption and tried to argue his critics are wrong. But with a £10M price tag and having failed to come close to impressing? It was a very, very misguided move.
Essentially Chermiti told his critics, including thousands and thousands of Rangers fans, to shut up.
The criticism, lad, is completely justified. You’ve been absolutely shocking since making the move, and your goal record since May 2023 reads league goals = 1.
For this boy to act like he’s made it really wasn’t a good look and just made him seem incredibly up himself.
Youssef, prove yourself over time on the pitch and slowly MAYBE you can stick a finger up at your (non-Rangers) critics.
Until then, you’re a £10M fail who has a single league goal since May 2023.
Youssef Chermiti’s gesture. Not really much to be proud of.
